Terrorist Bombing

After Leaving the Maldives in January 2010. I went to Bali, Indonesia. This is a picture of the Memorial that was built after the terrorist bombing. A Night Club that was here was demolished. This Memorial shows all the names of the people that were killed that night. When you see this for the first time, you'll feel the emotion of what happened.

CATCH OF THE DAY

Sailfish (blue Marlin) was on the menu for new years dinner when I was in the Maldives. Not my favorite fish to eat, would love to catch one though.
People ask me why does my blog say "divingaroundtheworld"?
Quite simple my job consist of deep sea diving projects all over the world. So this gives me opportunity to see places that would cost a fortune to see or visit.
One fine day

Kandooma Resort, MALDIVES

This is the Maldives. This particular Island is Kandooma Atoll, it takes about 40 minutes to walk around the whole Island. I came here on December the 31st 2009. They say because of "global warming" these Islands in the Indian Ocean (MALDIVES) Will be underwater by the next century. So if you want to see a part of this world that is spectacular you better start planing. I took a jet out of Singapore, its a direct flight. But if you want to go cheaper you can fly a few other routes that take you via, Sira Lanka, India, or parts of Eastern Africa.
When your up close the sand is actually crushed sea shells, that is the reason it is perfect white. The water is crystal clear. Make sure you bring a good pair of sunglasses. Forget about shopping there isn't nothing to buy. You can pick up a few local monetary coins and bills for souvenirs. When you pay for your meals and Resort you'll need US dollars, They didn't even take Singapore Dollars.
